The Wind's Breath
Shining with its full rays in the lunar mansion of Vayu, the Libra Full Moon in Svātī nakshatra — the home of the winds of change, of movement, tests, and restlessness — unlocks our life force, offering the glimpse of being unchained and the lived question: who am I without a story?
Commencing a fortnight of unseen currents, a going-through-of-things — a challenge to move through, neither gripping nor contracting in the process.
Libra is not a gentle sign, nor is its ruler Venus. Both speak of justice, of tapas, of the warrior. Balance and steadiness are not given here; they must be developed and tempered. As the natural 7th house, it is where we can become bound, where a great deal of karma is stored.
Mars and Saturn are in Yama yoga until mid-May, with Mars now deep in the gandanta of Revati. From the position of the Moon, both sit in the 6th, giving energy for the tasks ahead. Two tough planets in a house that requires strength.
Venus, the ruler of Libra, sits in the 8th from the Moon — the house of burden, of responsibility to others, of transformation through karmic debt. Venus is also under the aspect of Saturn, bringing a put-your-big-girl/boy-boots-on-and-deal-with-it kind of energy.
Mars and Jupiter are both casting their aspects to the Full Moon — Jupiter with its 5th, Mars with its 8th.
This fortnight, we are asked to let in the current of change, to harness and focus our energy on what and who truly matters, and not to divide ourselves with intrigue — otherwise, we are scattered and less impactful.
We are still under the influence of Kalasarpa yoga, spanning Aquarius to Leo — the pressure of time and decisions needing to be made. No breaks given here. The wheel of time pushing for quickened change.
May is a month of pushing us forward; change always begins with friction, creating the pressure to evolve. Then comes the scattering — Vayu's breath — where the lesson is to become adaptable while remaining connected to what truly matters.
Happy Full Moon and Happy Buddha Pūrṇimā
with much love and affection
