Guru Pūrṇimā 2026: Capricorn Full Moon in Śravaṇa | July 29 Vedic Astrology

Reaching its peak fullness in Śravaṇa, the star of listening, this very blessed day of Guru Pūrṇimā sees three sattvic planets align: the Sun, Jupiter, and the Moon. The Sun and exalted Jupiter are exactly conjunct in Puṣhya Nakshatra, the star of Bṛhaspati, the Guru to the Gods.

Guru Pūrṇimā is the Full Moon dedicated to the Guru, a sacred day of honouring our teachers, our lineage, and all those who have lifted us from darkness through the gift of wisdom and knowledge. It is a day to remember them with deep gratitude and reverence.

The Sun and Jupiter are exactly conjunct, while Mars in Taurus casts its aspect to Venus in Leo, suggesting work still to be done. This combination can generate tension, particularly within relationships, asking us to examine where effort, patience, and maturity are required.

With Saturn now retrograde in Pisces, we are invited to become more aware of the work that still remains within us and are asked to honestly evaluate where we are investing our energy. Are our efforts aligned with what is true, or are they being scattered by distraction?

To realign with what is authentic, to listen to our inner guidance with courage.

Śravaṇa Nakshatra, ruled by Lord Vishnu, carries a profound message of contemplation and inner listening. It is also deeply connected with Saraswatī, the goddess of wisdom, learning, and sacred speech.

It teaches us to hear the truth so completely that it naturally dissolves into silence. Ruled by Lord Vishnu, the One who pervades everything, it is easy to understand why this nakshatra is associated with movement, transmission, and the flow of knowledge.

Śravaṇa Nakshatra often suggests that something within our direction or purpose is ready to be clarified. It asks us to examine how we perceive our path, how we understand our individuality, and whether we are consciously directing our time or allowing ourselves to become subject to it.

This is an excellent time to become deeply introspective. Observe what is awakening within you and what is ready to be released. Give this process space to unfold naturally. Resist the urge to fill every moment with conversation or activity. Simply be present.

This same Full Moon is also Dakṣiṇāmūrti Jayantī; it also marks the celebration of the birth of Rishi Vedavyāsa, who compiled the Vedas and composed the Mahābhārata.

This bright fortnight offers a beautiful opportunity for reflection, meditation, spiritual practice, healing, study, and research. It is a time to cultivate inner wisdom, deepen our relationship with the Divine, and strengthen our connection to the eternal teacher that resides within.

A beauty and grace are offered before the upcoming eclipse, a guidance that leads us to the next doorway on our path.

With infinite love and affection,

Siriprakash
