New Moon in Gemini: Returning to Wholeness | Punarvasu July 14, 2026

The Sun and Moon merge in Punarvasu, ruled by Goddess Aditi, the embodiment of the undivided state of consciousness and awareness.

Punarvasu is the star of renewal, a return to restoration, hope after a storm, and the recovery of energy before a new release into life.

With Venus now having crossed Ketu, the Kala Sarpa cycle comes to an end. While Venus' connection with Ketu may have created emotional distance, disatifaction, perhaps even a sense of harshness, as it enters Purva Phalguni, the atmosphere begins to shift into softness, inviting delight, beauty, pleasure, and connection back into our lives.

With Mercury retrograde, there is a strong emphasis on refining communication and listening more deeply. Something essential is being restored to its rightful place. Although Mercury retrograde can bring delays and revisions, Jupiter second from teh new Moon offers optimism, wisdom, and protection throughout the process.

Goddess Aditi teaches in this fortnight the wisdom of embracing our totality, the parts of ourselves we readily accept and the parts we would rather reject. As the all-embracing Mother, all are her children. Healing begins when we stop dividing ourselves into what is worthy and unworthy and instead cultivate a more full awareness.

The influence of the retrograde planets during this fortnight (Saturn begins on the 27th) will be particularly potent. They ask us to pause, reflect rather than react, listen more carefully, and honor the places where we need to slow down, rest, and become more aware.

Recovery is just as important as ambition.

The nature of this fortnight is one of deep reflection and review rather than initiating entirely new projects. It is a time to revisit, restore, and refine to look again at past plans, conversations, unfinished work, and overlooked details. This New Moon encourages us to move beyond internal fragmentation, judgment, and labels, returning instead to a more holistic and integrated perspective.

It is a return to what is essential.

Stay open-minded. Stay curious.
